Re: D&D "Safe words/Trigger guides"?

I tried playing 5E with an old friend as a favor and literally could not stomach it. It's a stupid-ass, emasculated and yet power-obsessed version of the game. It never felt like D&D and I quit playing pretty quickly.

Re: Level Draining Undead - Revisited

I'm still having trouble seeing this as an easy thing to do. For example, say you have a wizard who is 12th level and is drained to 10th level. He loses access to certain spell levels and a certain number of spells per level, but this doesn't tell us which spells he loses. And what if he gained INT ...

Re: Level Draining Undead - Revisited

They're not really "friends" as much as people I grew up knowing, but did hang out with. They're not bad people, really, just sorta fucked up. They can't commit to a gaming time and day and they're just lazy. I told them never again to ask me to DM for them.

Anyone (man or woman) who insists that other people's characters have to be gay deserves to be punched in the face. HARD!

Re: Level Draining Undead - Revisited

True. These guys all went to school with my younger brother, so they're all a few years younger. But we've known each other a long time. Actually only one of them would technically be called "friend", as we hung out more than he and my brother did. But he's the only one who takes it seriou...

It's the woke bullshit that destroys everything. This is why I will have nothing to do with this nonsense and will not support these companies. I can't even imagine what these peoples' games look like when they run them.

Re: D&D "Safe words/Trigger guides"?

I swear to god, if I ever had a player invoke an "emergency snowflake break" (LMAO! I love how he called it that!), I would -without warning and without saying a fucking word - turn around and punch him in the face as hard as Mike Tyson in a title match. Not a word. Just POW!

Re: Level Draining Undead - Revisited

It sucks that this has become moot because the idiots I grew up with can't seem to commit to a day to play. I swear, it's like these guys never grew out of 4th grade mentally. I ended up canceling the entire campaign. Shame. I had great ideas for it, very inspired. These guys are just slackers. That...

Re: Back to work

For you guys only (this is top secret - ) Brodeen's Magical Deck of Cards is an illusionist magic item sorts like the Deck of Many Things. It was inspired by Marshal Brodien, a magician who played Wizzo on the Bozo show and he used to sell a set of trick cards on tv called TV Magic Cards. Kind...

Level Draining Undead - Revisited

Old topic, new thoughts! So I'm going to try running another Zoom AD&D game again with a group of old friends I've known from grade school. We'd stopped playing for awhile because of attendance issues and what not, but that seems fixed. And with Halloween season coming (I refer to Oct. 1st...

Re: Is anyone else having site problems?

Got someone looking at it now. It looks like we need another phpBB update but I wanted to make sure we can keep the same traditional parchment paper theme like we did last time. Hopefully everything will be working properly shortly.

Re: Is anyone else having site problems?

No, the problem is there was another PHP update at Hostmonster and now the phpBB version is out of date. Is the site working right for you? I have errors no matter which browser I try using.

Is anyone else having site problems?

Is anyone else noticing the site freezing up or having the same problems where you get an error message when posting, then go to re-post only to see the message already posted? This sucks - looks like I'm gonna have to hire someone to fix the site again.

Not sure I have an idea on this. I never used psionics in AD&D. To me, that belonged in Gamma World.

Re: Back to work

I gotta see if AI can produce line art, pencil art. I mean, the art is a big factor, but the content is what counts. Still, having that art brings the entire thing up to a new level. I'd be very disappointed if I bought a product like that and it had no art. Nobody has guessed what Brodeen's Magical...

Hey guys! We're so close yet so far away. To update... Level 7 is completely finished The sub-level ( Arachnia ) is completely finished Level 8 is almost finished - there are only 13 rooms left for Level 8 that need writing - however, they are already planned out and outlined. The New Monsters (all ...

Upgrade announcement!

So Hostmonster is once again upgrading servers in the first week of February. Sometimes this causes glitches and the site may show up intermittently as offline. Not to worry, I'll be watching them. But if any of you notice the site is not working right or you can't access it, email me so I can bitch...

Re: Mirror image.. WHILE ON something?

Also, looking back on your original post and the examples there, some of those situations simply would not work. The spell has a 12' diameter circle area of effect - a circle 12' across. No way could you fit 5, 6, 7, or 8 wagons, horses, chariots, etc. in that space. So considering that, it would by...

Re: Mirror image.. WHILE ON something?

I'm thinking, as you said, having it be able to make duplicate things like horses would make it a more powerful spell. But the spell has inherent problems. The spell says that the duplicates do exactly what the actual wizard does . So if the wizard mounts a horse, do all 8 images (assuming the max n...
