Well it looks like the voting window has elapsed...But I would have said "No"...I'm pretty solidly old school...1e and maybe 2e...much after that and I'm not really interested. To me its just not AD&D...it becomes a marketing ploy.

I've always tried to limit magic in my games, so when my players have wanted to sell of their magic items, they tended to get screwed on the price. Player: "This is a +3 sword!" Buyer: "It's a what now?" Player: "A magic sword." Buyer: "Really? Well! I'll give you...

I was invited here by McDeath just a few days ago. I'm 45 years old, live in Hamburg, Germany, and play D&D (1st edition) since 1980. I have no problems with later editions and actually use quite some stuff from 2E and 3E in my games. So I guess that saying that I play 1E isn't quite true - it'...

I'm so new here that my membership is still measured in hours. I found this site because of McDeath's patience and persistance. I voted for more members. Everybody has their own perspective and knowledge base that they bring to the discussion. I also work as a teacher...So I'm all for inclusio...

Re: Starting at 1st Level

In another thread it was mentioned that it is difficult to get players to agree to start at 1st level. I "always" start at first level. Is starting at first level something that really bothers players? Most of the time we start at 1st level and go from there...That is just the way that we...

New member, old thread. :) I'm using CC3 and have to say that I'm very fond of it. I'm aware that most people dislike the CC2/CC3 programs for several reasons, but aside from some minor issues I enjoy working with it, and up to now it served me well, producing a wide variety of very different looki...

Re: Which is your favorite published setting and why?

If we ignore for right now the various homebrew campaigns (since most people prefer their own homebrew over anything else), which published campaign setting is your favorite and why? I really have 2 settings that I like... 1. World of Greyhawk - very sentimental for me. It's what I grew up on when ...

The main problem here is that they need to find a buyer who is willing and able to pay the prices listed in the DMG and UA. ;) I agree totally...In fact why not make an adventure out that...It would probably be mostly roll-playing. Unless there was a group of NPCs that were trying to locate and ste...

Re: Have your PCs ever sold magic items?

Magic items command very high prices (especially in the 1E books!). But have you ever had PCs actually sell magic items? For example, has anyone here ever been in a game where a fighter found a vorpal sword and decided to sell it for the 50,000 gp it's listed as in the DMG?.....What have the rest o...
