Post by slade88green »

I came across this Metlal Earth model at Hobby Lobby and had to have it for a Scaladar miniature. About the right size too!

This is a Metal Earth model I found at hobby lobby. For some reason when I try to post pictures nothing shows up including text. Here is a link to the model. It is a great size for a scaladar mini, just requires good eyes and some patience to put it together.

Yeah, Shutterfly sucks for posting pics. That's why it's not showing. Some sort of proprietary shit programming or something. I hate sites like that.

Good find though! That would definitely make an awesome scaladar! I looked for it and found another link that gives a 360 degree turning picture as well...

Pretty cool!

Not a bad price either - about $7 apiece on most sites. Not a bad price, that is, unless you're like me and decide to send an army of 12 scaladar against the PCs!

With 3D printers I’m surprised there aren’t more creatures being created but I’m not really into the figurine or model departm my due to lack of space or a good workshop. Pretty awesome though.

My problem is eyesight. Close vision gets less clear as you get older, so that makes it a bit harder to paint those pin-point eyes. Well that, and the problem of finding proper scale material for 1E/2E without paying collector's prices on Ebay. Do they even make normal sized miniatures anymore?

I agree, all those minis get smaller to my old eyes each year.

I'd love to paint some new (vintage) miniatures, and I've seen some Reaper ones that are scaled right, plus re-do or touch up some really old faded ones. But I'm gonna have to use a mounted magnifying lens to do some of the finest work.

Even as a kid such devices are fine imho. My brother liked models more than I but being poor he had like maybe 2 plane models. I purchased several minis and paint later all due to Moldvay basic D&D. The trolls broke and I had to glue them. I gave a girl my favorite knight in HS. Pshh... stupid me.
At the edge of madness, he will show no sadness
Never broken, he'll be back for more
Proven under fire, over trench and wire
No fear of death, he's unshakeable
Forged for the war, he's unbreakable
