Happy Holidays!

Post by Beowulf »

Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Xmas! I'll only have sporadic internet for the next few days so I thought to drop in real quick before I'm off for home for the holidays. :)

I just stopped by to start a holiday thread, but I'm happy to see others beat me to it. :D Been tied up with lots of Christmas stuff, and cooking, and...the Chicagoland area FINALLY got snow! So I was out building snowmen. As best I could with the sparse, fluffy snow. Wish we'd get a blizzard, or at least some normal snow!

Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone, and a Happy New Year!

Here's a treat I'm not sure all of you remember. These almost lost cartoons aired in Chicago in the 60's and early 70's at Christmas. More than just about anything else in the world, they take me back to my childhood Christmases. I give you: Frosty the Snowman, Suzy Snowflake and The Three Little Dwarves (Hardrock, Coco and Joe)...

The Chicago area is set for some bone-chilling arctic weather. On New Year's Eve and Day, the low is predicted at -6F, with a 10-15 mph wind, which generates a windchill of -27F to -38F.

I've seen worse. I delivered newspapers in high school during a -79F windchill and went bicycle riding with my (equally crazy) uncle when it hit -82F!

I'm telling the Chicagoans who hate snow that this is my revenge for wishing such dry, snowless winters on Chicago these last few years. :P

I WANT SOME DAMNED SNOW!!!!

Well, I'm lazy! :P So I'll just bump up last year's Happy Holidays thread! I recently moved to Montana and probably won't make it "home" for the holidays. But I will probably be pretty busy so I wanted to with you all a Merry Xmas in case I don't get time later. :)

Hope everyone here has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm doing everything I can to squeeze out as much Christmas type stuff in every moment I can spare. It goes by way too quick! We need to start making Thanksgiving on the FIRST Thursday of November, so we get an extra few weeks of the Christmas season! :D

Unfortunately I probably won't make it home for Xmas this year. Not a huge deal but my mom is 70, kind of hate to miss any holidays with her. But it's about a fifteen hour drive and I don't really have time to get there and back.
