For this year's halloween weekend i did a run through all 7 of the Saw movies.. 1 and 2 still hold up the best. The disk for 3, 6 and 7 were buggered up (3 and 6 froze at 40 mins in, and wouldn't kick back on till i jumped to one of the latter scenes around 1.20 mark, so almost half the films were unwatchable, while saw 7, wouldn't even play past 10 min in...)
So i bit the bullet, and got the saw 8 pack boxed set that has all 8 movies (inc Jigsaw) on both Blue-ray AND dvd....

It's not who you kill, but how they die!

Phantasm is my favorite next to Nightmare on Elm Street, and Poltergeist. Classic are good though and Wolfman vs Frankenstein's monster was pretty good. Just watched Charlie Brown today. I'm considering buying my Mum the Dark shadows collection... if i have the $$$

Re: HALLOWEEN
I'm raising this thread from the dead. I watch Svengoolie every Saturday and this month is dedication to Frankenstein or his monster. I fell asleep to last weeks Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein but I saw the 1938 remaster last night where they put the God References bsck in and the monster tossing the girl into the lake. I kept wondering why he was called Henry Frankrnstein son of Baron Frankenstein. Well...

Then I swore Henry called his assistant Reinhert instead of Fritz

Ah Fritz killed offscreen. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ujQ-nMc0WGE&t=3s
I've seen the original Dracula with Reinhert and its funny the actor is cast as these crazy assistants. Its good though. I also saw the Creature from the black lagoon but not the sequel. While Svengoolie is ok fir data on thr movies i am now muting most skits. I hate commercials as well. I haven't seen wolfman but I did see Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man (1943). I'd have to invest in getting a good series of these on DVD. I need a proper listing though.
https://universalmonsters.fandom.com/wi ... ankensteinThe leading character of Mary Shelley's book, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, was renamed Henry because it was decided Victor would sound too "severe" and "unfriendly" to American audiences at the time.

Re: HALLOWEEN
I generally don't read horror fiction because it's hard to find decent reviews to determine whether I want to invest the time to read the stories. Lots and lots of tepid crap out there these days, both in books and movies.
