Need help with reverse spell name
There's a new spell (very cruel!) called eternal peace. I need a name for the reverse of this spell. What works? Finite discord? Transient Strife?
The Back In Print Project - Where AD&D Lives Forever!
Well, we kind of need to know what Eternal Peace does. What does it mean? Are you put to sleep forever? Are you put into some emotional state where you wander around happy? There's already a spell for preventing raise dead from functioning, so I presume it's not one that makes one dead.

You wouldn't want this sort of eternal peace McDeath, trust me!
Mira, the eternal peace spell is a cruel misnomer. Essentially what it does is petrifies a person (ala flesh to stone) but allows them to remain aware of everything going on around them. They never sleep, they just remain frozen in stone. Eventually (after a few days or a week, I forget the time period I used) it drives the victim mad (imagine being 100% immobile and unresponsive but unable to sleep or communicate or do anything other than think), so even if you are returned to flesh, you're insane.
So the spell has, as I said, a cruelly misleading name. But what would the opposite be? That's the hard part.

OH so cruel is there was also a spell that turned them into controlled constructs. Not only are they going insane and trapped but they're forced to do the bidding of whomever made them. A whole new living statue of sorts (as compared to the D&D version back in the days).

The reverse of the spell acts as a stone to flesh of sorts, restoring the victim to normal. However, the mind is still snapped from the strain, so the victims would need a heal or restoration spell to regain sanity.
Some good ideas so far! Just gotta settle on which one!

You know, even if the player is insane from a failed (what ever roll) System shock or something; you could always use the old 1st Ed DMG and compile a list of Insanities the player might end up with from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stoned Disorder). A fear of statues, Terror of touching rock, always must move, can't stand being in one place too long, fear of small places, etc etc..
Nympomania towards Medusae? Makes one hard... ok.. that's just too much there.
